Jesus Father of the Poor Clinic began in the heart of Dr. Rhodes Charles, a native Haitian. Her vision of better health care for the women and children near her home blossomed into care for all who came to the clinic. The challenge now is to hire and train help, and to obtain supplies and equipment while still trying to operate on approximately $75.00 per day. But, the Clinic is still in its infancy!

Father Russell Wright, a Roman Catholic Priest, who was visiting Port-Au-Prince and, quite by chance, happened to be introduced to Dr Rhodes, was so inspired by her enthusiasm that he brought her vision back to SW Florida.

In order to help support the Clinic a 501(c)(3) charity called “Jesus Father of the Poor Clinic Inc” has been established in the USA which now strives to raise funds and supplies for the Clinic. The donations do not pass through any government entity. Your contributions are tax deductible as permitted under the law.

You are probably aware that Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world. 7 out of 10 Haitians live on about $2.00 per day. Poverty, corruption, poor infrastructure, lack of health care and lack of education are cited as the main reasons.
